The Hillcrest Merchants won the District 17 Tournament this year for the sixth time since 2000. The Merchants advanced all the way to the Zone Championship before falling to Carthage 13-8. That was the fourth time in the run that Hillcrest has played in the Zone Championship. This has been Hillcrest's most successful span since 1970-79 when they also won 6 district crowns and won 4 State Championships. Hillcrest loses only two starters from this years team for the 2011 season. Conragtualtion to Head Coach Ryan Schaffitzel and the rest of the Merchants.

The festivities will begin at 8AM at the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course. The four-person scramble is $60 per player and includes a round of golf, cart rental, lunch and gift bag. The 3rd Annual Hall of Fame weekend was scheduled for May 21-23. The Hall of Fame induction banquet has been postponed until the fall but the golf tournament and alumni game are still set for the 22nd and 23rd, respectivley. On Saturday, May 22nd the annual Golf Tournament will be held at Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course starting at 8am. On Sunday, May 23rd there will be the Alumni game atarting at 1pm on the Hillcrest Baseball Field.
